What we collect
Public web pages and public records in markets where prices are scattered and hard to compare: short-term rentals, trading cards, comics and other collectibles, campgrounds and land, among others. As of 31 October 2026, the catalog defines 107 datasets planned for launch; they open with the API. The free reports and fee calculators publish real observations now.
How we collect it
- Politely. Every source has a request cap, and every request goes through one shared collector that paces calls and backs off when a site asks it to slow down.
- Raw first. Each page we fetch is stored before we read values out of it, so a mistake in reading can be fixed from what we already hold instead of fetching the site again.
- Never rewritten. Observed rows are never edited after the fact. Source values and source IDs are kept as the source published them.
- Failures are loud. A source that breaks or returns too few rows fails its checks and is reported, rather than quietly shipping a partial day.
What you can check before you buy
- Schema: every field with its type, unit and meaning.
- Coverage: which slices exist, their observation dates and row counts.
- Freshness: the date each value was observed, and the latest observation date for each dataset.
- Missing values: null means unknown, never zero.
- Rights label: only datasets cleared for external use are planned for sale.
The free sample and free month let you test these claims on real rows at launch.
Personal data
Datasets we offer contain no personal data such as host names or buyer identities. Each dataset has a fixed list of fields, and anything outside it is removed before data is delivered.
Corrections and takedown
If you think a dataset holds something it shouldn't, or gets something wrong, email info@boogiedata.com with the dataset and row. We will look into it and add a corrected row or withhold the row from delivery; the original observation is kept.
Methods by data family
- Short-term rental data: how we measure it: for short-term rental investors comparing towns.
- Local rules and lodging taxes: our method: for short-term rental investors checking whether a town allows rentals.
- Trading card sale prices: how we collect them: for card dealers pricing inventory and collectors checking a card's value.
- Comic book sale prices: how we collect them: for comic dealers and collectors pricing graded books.
- Marketplace and auction fees: how we read them: for sellers choosing where to sell a card, comic or collectible.
- Free reports: what we publish and hold back: for anyone reading or citing a Boogie Data report.
