Frequently asked questions
Is any of this real data yet?
Yes: the free reports and the venue fee calculators. Each report gives its sample sizes and observation dates. The fee calculators, on the website and at https://api.boogiedata.com/v1/free/fees, use each venue's own published fee schedule, with the source and the date we read it. The rest of the API and the MCP server, with the full datasets, open later.
When does it launch, and how will I know?
The website, free reports and fee calculators are live now. The API and MCP server have no launch date yet. To hear when they open, join the waitlist, or write to info@boogiedata.com.
Where does the data come from?
From public web pages and public records: listings, published prices, auction results and government statistics. We collect politely and keep each source's own IDs and values unchanged. See Methodology for how.
Is it legal to use?
We collect only public pages and records. Each dataset carries a rights label, and only datasets cleared for external use are planned for sale. The licence lets you use the data inside your organisation; it does not let you redistribute it. Read the terms, and email us if you need something the licence doesn't cover.
How fresh is it?
Each dataset states its observation dates, refresh cadence and freshness with the data, so you can see how old it is before you buy. Subscriptions include daily refresh; snapshots are a one-off pull.
What can I do with it?
Use it internally: research, analysis, models and internal tools. You can't resell it, publish row-level extracts or build a service that lets others retrieve it. Free reports are different: they are CC BY 4.0, so you can share them with attribution.
What does it cost?
Planned prices start at $2 for one slice. A slice is one town, one card category or one comic segment within a dataset. A whole dataset is every slice in it. There is no platform fee or seat licence, and the free sample and free month let you check the data before paying anything. See Pricing; nothing is for sale until the API opens.
What's free?
A fixed sample of each dataset and one complete free month (we change which month about once a year). Reports are free and need no key.
What happens to my data?
Very little. If you join the waitlist we keep the address you enter, the group you chose and the date, and nothing else about you. We email you when the API and MCP server open and occasionally about new data and features; every email has an unsubscribe link, and we keep the address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it (write to info@boogiedata.com). We never share or sell the list; see the privacy policy. When accounts open, API keys and account emails are stored only as one-way hashes and request records carry no IP address. This site has no trackers or cookies.
Who uses it?
Nobody pays for it yet: the API hasn't opened. We won't show customer quotes or logos until real customers agree to them.
