Comic book sale prices: how we collect them
For comic dealers and collectors pricing graded books. Our comic prices are completed auction results recorded with the title, issue, numeric grade, page quality, signature status and certificate number the listing prints. Prices are kept as shown, and the buyer's premium notice is recorded beside them when the listing prints one.
What a sale row holds
Title and issue, publisher and year where printed, the grading company, the grade label and its number (for example 9.8), page quality (such as white or off-white), whether the book is a witnessed signed copy, the certificate number, the sale date and the price.
Matching a book
Two copies of the same issue are compared only when title, issue, grading company, signature status and page quality agree. Other grades within one point are used only when fewer than three exact-grade sales exist.
Price as shown
The sold price is the figure the results page shows, unadjusted. When the listing prints a buyer's premium percentage we record it, so you can work out the total a buyer paid.
What we leave out
We do not keep the signer's name, seller names or buyer names.
