Occupancy ceiling

Occupancy ceiling: The upper end of our occupancy estimate: booked nights plus nights whose cause is unclear, as a share of the 90 nights after each observation.

How we measure it

Ambiguous nights are closed runs of 8 to 29 nights, which could be a long stay or a host block. We publish the ceiling beside the booked share, so you see a range rather than one guessed figure.

What it is not

It is the top of a range, not an occupancy figure on its own, and not a hard maximum: a guest stay of 30 nights or more is counted as blocked.

Where it appears in the data

Field names as the API returns them; each dataset's page in the API lists the field's type and unit.
