# Permit cap

**Permit cap:** A numeric limit on how many short-term rental permits a jurisdiction will issue.

## How we measure it

We quote the number from the section of the ordinance that sets it.

## What it is not

It is not a limit on guests per home or homes per parcel.

Field names as the API returns them; each dataset's page in the API lists the field's type and unit.
