**Local rules verdict:** A one-word summary of a town's short-term rental rules: permissive, restricted, hostile or unknown.

## How we measure it

It summarises the recorded answers on permits, caps, zoning and moratoriums, with the date the source rule was last checked.

## What it is not

It is a desk screen, not legal advice, and adds no reading of the law beyond the recorded answers.

## Where it appears in the data

Field names as the API returns them; each dataset's page in the API lists the field's type and unit.
